All of our instructors hold years of experience and are proficient in all discplines taught at Kuro Tora Dojo including traditional karate, point sparring, weapon sparring, Japanese weapons, self defense and kickboxing.

Operates and Manages Prince Albert, Osler, Bjorkdale, Christopher Lake and Cudworth
Kyoshi Manicke started karate at 5 years old in Germany. Coming to Canada in the late 1970’s, he was a driving force in bringing martial arts to Western Canada. He promoted martial arts tournaments and kickboxing events. His lineage of students is still prominent and active across the prairies. His years of local and international competitions has lead to multiple World Championships in all disciplines including forms, weapon forms, sparring and kickboxing he has been featured on the History Channel’s, Stan Lee’s: Superhuman as The Human Wrecking Ball, Rupley’s Believe it or Not, Guiness Book of World Records Holder. Kyoshi Manicke is still active in teaching as well as competing.

Shihan Silver started karate at 4 years old with Kyoshi Manicke. With years of experience instructing all ages and competing internationally, Shihan Silver has won many World Championships in all disciplines including forms, weapon forms, and sparring. He has also won the Canadian Championship in kickboxing. He was a team member on Stan Lee’s: Superhuman. Shihan Silver still actively competes in martial arts tournaments and kickboxing/muay thai competitions.
